Lanzarote, the most north easterly of the Canary Islands is situated in the Atlantic Ocean just 115 kilometres off the west coast of Africa. The climate is dry and mild throughout the year. The island is one of contrasts, sun and wind, sea and fire. So much of the island is associated with its volcanic heritage from the amazing Timanfaya National Park to the black rich arable land.
